More Dress Designs for Shabby Apple dresses

November 3, 2009

I had more ideas than I had time and fabric! These were also designed with Shabby Apple dresses in mind. Such a fun contest!

The first is a cute, retro style trapeze dress, with 3 quarter sleeves. I’m scanner-less and completely inept at drawing on the computer (not just the computer, you’re probably thinking!), so sorry for the roughness of the sketch. It has 3 big buttons and patch pockets. The sleeves have little cuffs. I would make it out of a cute mod Amy Butler print, one of these:

The next (and last) dress is a faux wrap with a stand up collor with a knife pleat edge. The cuffs of the 3-quarter length sleeves are also edged in knife pleats, as is the a-line skirt. The waist features a sash that ties in a bow at the side. I had originally thought of doing this in navy and white polka dots, but now I’m thinking some other options instead:  brown, rose, green, or grey. I LOVE polka dots! Oh, and in-seam pockets. Pockets are so handy to have.
