Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!
CLOSED TO COMMENTS! 🙂 I’ll be drawing a name later today.
Welcome, those of you visiting for the first time from Sew Mama Sew. I’m glad you’re here!
I’m using this giveaway post as an excuse to get back into blogging. I haven’t posted since the beginning of May *blush*, even though I’ve been sewing quite a bit.
For those of you who are new here, I’m a Christian, wife to my smart computer husband, mommy to three sweet boys, sometime Etsy shop owner (umm….kind of pathetic when my last update was!), seamstress/sewer/whatever the right word is, quilter, baker, homeschooler, reader, babywearer, a little bit crunchy, country girl living in the suburbs. I mostly blog about my sewing, though I reserve the right to post about whatever I feel like. 🙂
And now, the real reason you came here! I’m giving away one yard of this sweet Alexander Henry print, Very Berry. This would make a cute little girl’s dress. I’ll also throw in some random goodies. If there are a lot of comments, I might even do a second giveaway.
To enter, just leave a comment. Edited to add: If you already entered, you’re all good. But if you haven’t, when you leave a comment let me know what you would like to see a tutorial for. Or, if you have no idea, just let me know your favorite thing you’ve ever sewed! To earn 10 extra entries, link to this entry on your blog or Twitter. Just let me know by leaving another comment. Disclaimer garbage: sorry, only open to USA (unless you want to pay shipping difference)! Giveaway ends Sunday night or when I pick a winner, whichever comes last!
Come back later this week (or maybe next week….I’m trying to finish up a mini-wardrobe and I’m making jeans!) for an even better and bigger giveaway!
Fun! I love that print. Thanks for the opportunity.
I love the berries, would love a chance.
Ooohh I love this print!! Thanks for the giveaway 😀
I’d love to be entered! I have two girls (and 2 boys), and also enjoy sewing….only it doesn’t seem to be happening for me! 😦 Not enough anyway. I enjoy your blog!

the fabric is so cute! I love strawberries! I checked out your etsy shop and I would love to see a tutorial on how to make those hot/cold flax compresses. But would a tutorial on that affect your business?
Fabric looks lovely. I am a novice and am having fun trying to sew all sorts of things (limited in time by a job and two little girls). Most recently a shirred top for my 8 yo – thanks to the tutorial from Portobello pixie

Hey there from a fellow babywearer! 😉 I love this fabric, I had a dress when I was little that, at least in my memory, had fabric a lot like this!
I’m trying to find a tutorial on making a child’s kimono dress. But in general I like anything that shows me how to make something without a pattern.
Thanks for parting with such adorable fabric!
(also, my favorite things I’ve sewn are a dress I made for my little one’s first birthday… kind of a pinafore style, a wedding dress, and matching dresses for my girls out of a sheet… very old fashioned and sweet.)
I like to sew quick projects. My favorite thing that I’ve sewn is a quilt for my bed.
Some of my favorite sewing projects have been either the Japanese clothing patterns I have sewn up or my daughter’s birthday quilt I made with Oh, Fransson’s! quilt-along.
Oh perfect fabric for my grand-daughters. My favorite sewing project was an Annie outfit I made for my daughter when she was little. All grow up with babies of her own now.

{wood (dot) angi (at) gmail (dot) com}
myy favorite thing I’ve ever sewn? hm… i’d have to say my hand-pieced hand-quilted original-pattern quilt, made out of silks and satins and quilter’s flannel, for my boyfriend’s christmas present. it was made while i was working in Ireland and studying in Spain; it’s been though five airports with me, seven or eight bus trips, three homes, etc. I’ve been through a lot with that quilt – and it’s the quickest quilt i’ve ever done as i was on deadline – six months from start to finish!
I love that AH print! it would be perfect for a dress for my daughter. my favorite thing i’ve sewn is a quilt made from the embroideries of my son’s drawings (confusing to explain…see my blog for a picture! http://ebabble.blogspot.com/2009/04/quilt-fest.html)
Very fun! I would love to see a tutorial for a nursing cover or baby sling. Hope I win! Thanks!
My favorite is the first quilt square I pieced and quilted by hand and turned into a pillow.

I’m a Christian too! Love it! Would love an easy tutorial for a fabric tea set!
Oh what cute fabric, thanks for the oppertunity to win this.
What a great print! Love it!
My favorite thing is probably clothes for my daughter… I love finishing something for her and putting it right on her!
I love that fabric and have a coordinate that would make a beautiful Miss Molly for my 14 month old daughter. I love making her dresses. My favorite one so far was The Flower Girl dress from Weekend Sewing. As far as a tutorial, this may sound like a simple technique but I stink at it, easing in fullness. Needed all the time with dresses and I just can’t get it. My mom tried showing me but lets just say her teaching style doesn’t fit my learning style. LOL!
Great print. I would love an apron style dress for a toddler.
I would love that print!!
I am in NC and I would love to see more quilt/sew a longs/tutorials. I just started.

The favorite thing I ever sewed was a little purse for a 6yo’s birthday. The outside was a lightweight denim from shortened jeans, inside was a flower-patterned vintage bed sheet and it had an appliqued felt birdie on the outside.
I’d love to see a tutorial on machine quilting. I found one, but it didn’t tell me some important details about machine quilting. I”m wondering if I missed more… 🙂

I love Alexander Henry fabrics! I’d love a tutorial on making a zipper pouch or pencil case for my girls to stash their colored pencils and pens.
Yay! Free stuff 🙂 My favorite thing to sew so far has been the baby bedding I made my daughter. It was the most rewarding 🙂
simply.simon.sisters(at)gmail(dot)com
I love anything with apples on them and this fabric is perfect! Hrrm…. well… I guess my favorite thing I’ve ever sewn would be my Pacman skirt. I redid it like 6 times, but I love it!
Cute giveaway stuff. I’m working on a few things, a shawl, some stuffies for my great niece, and always an afghan going.
Would love to make something with that for one of my girls. Quilting has been my favorite, but I’ve recently discovered sewing skirts for my daughters, and I’m loving that.

Hi…I just found your blog and love the description you gave of yourself…
“seamstress/sewer/whatever the right word is, quilter, baker, homeschooler, reader, babywearer, a little bit crunchy, country girl living in the suburbs…”
I completely understand! (only I am just an aspiring quilter and not quite a homeschooler, although we will begin that in the Fall with our 2nd grader.)
Anyway glad, I found your blog! I would love a chance to win the darling fabric – my girls would love it!
I forgot a about the tut part. I would like to see a tutorial for something clever and lovely and amazing that I’ve never thought of before. How’s that for a tall order? LOL

I’m new to sewing…usually I only did quilts but when my baby girl came along I went NUTS wanting to sew her everything! Tutorials for baby items/clothes are wonderful- with lots of pictures explaining what exactly to do are great!
Love the give-away!
That fabric is so cute.
My favorite thing I’ve ever sewn would have to be my daughter’s Easter dress.
I love that print. You sound like you are at a place in life that I want to be in in about 5 or 10 years. I just graduated college and have started quilting recently and doing small sewing projects with my soon-to-be mother-in-law. It has been fun learning with someone experienced. I would love to see a tutorial on fun little purses or bags to be able to give friends. 🙂

Hi! That fabric is super cute and it is very generous of you to give it away! I love seeing tutorials for useful things like wallets, kitchen stuff, bags….pretty vague, huh? So far my favorite things that I have sewn are two pairs of pajama pants for my son that I made from a thrifted long sleeve T-shirt. They were one of my first projects that wasn’t a blanket. They definately look home-made, but that makes me like them even more!
I love the fabric, and while you’re right, I think it would make a super cute dress for a little one-I like the idea of kitchen linens in this and the alexander henry apples/pears/and lemons! I have the other three, but no strawberries! No pressure. Seriously though, thanks for doing the giveaway. You’ve helped make the week so much fun!
Hello and thank you for a chance to win your lovely fabric. Im not sure about tutorials…haven’t done one, but I love the wonky log cabins I have been seeing, I really want to work on that! thanks!

I have a little girl that would look so cute in something made with that fabric. I would like to see tutorials for easy clothes for older kids like 9-12 year olds

Cute fabric! Thanks for the opportunity.
I’m a beginner, so tutorials on things that a beginner can do. Anything really 🙂
love the fabric! i’ll have a little girl soon to add to my 2 boys, so i can use all the girl-ish stuff i can get!
my favorite thing i’ve made…probably the teddy bears i made my mother-in- law for christmas. she collects bears, so i had my sons “design” bears for her. they drew pictures of the bears and picked out the fabric and i whipped them up. it took some effort, but they turned out really cute. and of course, they were a big hit with grandma and grandpa. 🙂
I love tutorials for recycling things – such as making a man’s shirt into a little girls dress, or things like that.
I’d love to see a tutorial for an easy peasy way to do ruffles! 🙂
Ok…So I am PERFECT to win this giveaway… let me tell you why (wink, wink) First…. I have never loved a fabric design more than alexander henry… you can check out my blog to see! And second… I make little girls dresses and other fun things out of these fun prints, so really you would be crasy 🙂 not to give it to me… just kidding.
I think your giveaway is fabulous! and if I win my husband will thank you for keeping me out of the local fabric store, where I tend to spend WAY more than what I ever should!
Have a great day!

Ooh that fabric is wonderful and as luck would have it, I have an adorable little, almost 2 yr old granddaughter that would look super cute in a dress from that fabric.
I would love to see tutorials for dresses or shirts that I could use to make clothing for my granddaughter. One can never have too many of those to choose from right!?
I think my favorite thing in the past year that I’ve sewn would have to be the breast cancer tote/purse I made to give to my MIL after she had her 2nd mastectomy just a year after her first one. It turned out just beautiful and she showed that off to everyone who came to visit her. Everyone that saw it wanted one which made me feel just great.
Thank you for the giveaway prize(s) you are offering.
that fabric is gorgeous!
hmmmm…a tutorial?
I’d love to see a tutorial for curtains for a boys room

Love the fabric. I love to sew and right now I’m into refashioning.
I’d love to see a tutorial on smocking. Oh and one on vintage aprons.

I have no idea on the tutorial (too late at night) but I enjoy the simplicity of making raglan shirts for my son, and I also enjoy the complicatedness of sewing doll clothes for my niece !
My girls love strawberries! Thank you for your generosity! I need a tutorial for a purse insert. I haven’t seen one of those around and I think it was brought up in the SMS forum some time ago, but it was just a link to place to buy an insert!
I would love to have this to make a dress for my grand-niece and then make a doll with a matching dress . I think it would be too cute

beautiful fabric!!
I love to see tutorials for any thing kid related. I’m a pretty new sewer, and so far, pretty much everything has been for my DD.
thanks!
Great print – can’t wait to see what the “extras” are!
I am always looking for an easy shirt tutorial. The fabric is great! I have a good friend who is expecting a girl this summer, so I’d love to use it for her.
I also linked to you on twitter. (@abbyhendricks)
thanks for the extra chances to win!
My sister’s little girls would benefit from this give-away–I just bought some cute dress and hat patterns that would work great!
Speaking of, I would love any tutoral for boys clothes if you have any thoughts up your sleeve (as a mother of boys, I’m hoping you do!) — any cute pattern for a boy is hard to come by and I have a 13 month old boy that may have to run around in a dress just so I can say that I made something for him! 🙂
I love the berries. I am working on quilted kitchen rugs currently!
My favorite thing that I have sewn is my lunchbag. It was the first thing I made when I taught myself to sew last year.
I love this fabric! Since I’m new to sewing, I’d love to get my hands on any tute that’s easy to follow. I’ve made a denim purse from an old pair of jeans, an appliqued pillow w/my daughter’s name on it, and I’m in the middle of making my MIL a quilt. I don’t know what my favorite thing is since I’m still new to it but I do enjoy the creative expression it gives me.
I’m a Christian, homeschooling, sewing, quilting, married to a brilliant computer guy, WOMAN as well. Nice to meet you.
this fabric will fit in the my strawberry fabric collection I’ve had going for years. I have my kitchen done in strawberries and I collect strawberry stuff.
You should come down to Plant City, FL for our strawberry festival we have in the spring. It could be a homeschool field trip. 🙂
I would like to see a tutorial of a reversable wrap skirt. I know there is one out there, but I can find it any where. I would like to see more sewing for boys or men out there. My son grew an inch last month. I need some new clothes for him.
Take care. I look forward to seeing you again. I’m keeping your blog in my favorites.
I love making bags/totes, but am currently attempting a toddler back pack for my little guy. Hope it works! 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win!
My favorite thing I’ve ever sewed is a bag I made for my sister-in-law. I used the Amy Butler Birdie Sling pattern, and three different fabrics, and it turned out so great. I wanted to keep it so bad! 😉
